Ways you can access home care with Goodwin

Home Care Package (HCP)

Government subsidised
Home Care Packages can range from basic to high-level care needs. The government’s Aged Care Assessment Team (ACAT) will decide what level of funding assistance you get depending on your needs. It can sometimes take a long time to receive government funding, as there is a national waiting list, so we recommend getting started early.

Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP)

Government subsidised
CHSP delivers entry-level support for people located in the ACT who just need a little help with a few tasks in their homes or out in the community. Services can be delivered on a short-term, episodic, or ongoing basis and have a strong focus on activities that support independence, wellness, and reablement.

Private services

Privately funded
If you’re not eligible for a government-funded package, or you want to start receiving services before your government funding is approved, you can pay for services directly. You can access Goodwin home care services, including nursing, at any time without government funding. All you need to do is give us a call and we’ll get you sorted.

Understanding finance – how much does home care cost?

The size and cost of your home care can depend on:

  • Your Government-subsidised contribution
  • Your contribution as determined by Government income testing
  • The services you wish to receive
  • The hours of service you wish to receive
  • Your basic daily care fee
  • Your hardship supplement (if applicable)
  • And potentially other factors.

Because of these factors, there is no one-size-fits-all price that can be applied to everyone. However, if you’re interested in private services, we can provide you with a quote based on your needs.

Virtual Support Program

Commonwealth Home Support Program clients can enjoy extra lifestyle benefits with our Virtual Support Program. From book clubs and museum tours, to trivia, exercise and meditation, there’s a huge range of opportunities at your fingertips. And it can all be experienced from the comfort of your own home.
